A Sunny Saturday at the Seaside.

Heidi and crew ran Hood to Coast this past weekend. I babysat her kids. That is, I let them do whatever they wanted, including eating ice-cream for breakfast and playing the Wii all day long. Shouldn't every kid have such a dream day? They for SURE should if the babysitter has three kids in diapers. On Saturday, I drove the kids out to the coast to meet up with the runners. Briton drove The Bogus with our kids, and after leaving the Bruno clan, we spent the rest of the afternoon at Cannon Beach. Clear skies. Warm. Mmmm. Inspiration for future beach trips.
Syd's particular about solids at this time in her life. She won't eat carrots, pears, peaches, green beans, peas, avacados, etc. Sand, though, is another matter. The beach was a new sensory experience.

That's Talmage in the middle of this pic, off in the distance. And up close.

Looks like you guys had great time. I'm looking forward to when the coast (or the shore as they say in Jersey) will be close to us! And to Sydney, go for the gold on that sand, kid! My last sand-in-mouth experience was during a beach volleyball game. (I hope the previous comment gives you an idea of my performance in said game, or perhaps that of the other team?) :)

My kids think you are just about the coolest babysitter! Ice cream for breakfast! Does it get any better? Thanks so much for taking on three dirty bums for the weekend and for letting Rick and I ran our hearts out. Can't wait to take my turn with Talmage! LYLAS!

hi mommy,

was your kid (or my little brother) eating sand in the first picture?
