A little later I found this note:
"MY MOM iS NOT Nise AND I DO NOT LiKE HRE."
"MY MOM IS A BABY" (notice the mad face on the me).
On the back it starts on the bottom with:
"DAD iS fun to ... "AND MOM IS NTO"
"We HAVe the fun in oue (our) hase (house)." [with dad only, I presume].
Later in the evening I asked him about the note and we talked about what happened. Turns out he wrote the note yesterday. Niiiiise. Anyway, I guess it's a complement to be considered a mean mom.

Wow, I'm quite impressed with how well Talmage can Write! Really. That is pretty good. And it sounds to me like Talmage is a pretty normal kid. Just needed a little time to cool off in his room. I'm sure you're not mean, just good at disciplining :)
Awesome! Welcome to the world of parenting kids who are learning to write:). Allyson has left me a considerable number of notes regarding how I have ruined her life, and an early favorite was the "I hat you mom" (she hadn't learned about silent e's yet). :) Save them all!
Don't worry about it...at least he didn't use the word hate. Brie got one of my nice Thank you cards out of my dresser and wrote in it then sealed it and put the note on my desk. I opened it, thinking it was a love note from her, it simply read, "I hate you." They get over it fast.
Our children sure have the power to cut us down quickly and effortlessly.
Quite a story and quite a penman. Looks like he had second thoughts and crossed out the comments about mother. Glad to know you have a fun "hase" and a fun dad and a great mom.
It probably shouldn't make me so happy when your kids write you a hate letter. But it did!!! That's a BFF for ya!
