Christmas Comes Early Sometimes

I found a classic Tonka dumptruck on craigslist and picked it up after Talmage went to sleep. It was secreted away into our closet in our bedroom, there to hide until it got wrapped. The next morning as I was getting dressed, I had an unexpected visit from Talmage, who wandered in to the closet to say Good Morning. He immediately spied the dumptruck and said, delightedly, and with complete conviction, "Oh, look! A dumptruck for me." Indeed.

What a crack up! I can't stop laughing.
Oh man. Did you get it down for him?

those darn kids! I can see him saying that and he probably sounds just like you :)
We have two of those trucks- one was a gift from someone and one was Aaron's when he was a kid- that he fondly painted army green. :)

Guess you've learned like the rest of us that "elf work" is tricky business. Some year you'll realize on Christmas morning that a gift is missing because it was hidden tooooo well! Kids have an uncanny way of appearing and noticing at the most inopportune times. My boys loved their Tonka dump truck--yes it's a classic. Talmage...enjoy!
