... or drink a barrel of monkey snot?
It seems we're making lots of life-changing decisions lately. To give the pull-ups back or not. To rip out the fireplace. Or not. To buy a new bed for Syd or get one cheap on craigslist. Then there's this new little one on the way. She is reticent about telling us her name. Speaking of the baby - we'll want a bigger car when she arrives. So, in your opinion ...
WOULD YOU RATHER ...
drive this car?

... or this one?

Before you jump to a hasty decision like you did about the monkey snot, listen to this:
This white 1984 Vanagon has a table inside. How cool is that? Huh, Mr. Fancy Odyssey? You got a table inside? Imagine that sweetie lined up in the church parking lot next to all those slick SUVs and minivans. Not such an easy decision, is it?
And also, if you have any girl names send 'em our way.

Laur says before you buy that bread box (ask Briton about the one we rented in Cancun), check out the crash test safety ratings! It looks like the van Laur delivered groceries in from Millet's Market in Provo in 1968. It didn't even have a gas gauge. You had to write down your mileage every time you filled up so you could keep track of when you had to fill up again! We laughed ourselves silly over "awkward" and "flutes." But we know the kid has got to have some Rock 'N Roll somewhere in his genes. No girl name suggestions, but 2 syllables sound good. No dry bed solutions either...too long ago for us to remember and not a current problem...yet.
hahaha-we had a 7-seater ford econoline when i was growing up that was AWESOME! Mood lights around the ceiling, an automatic reclining back seat that turned into a bed, a tv and vcr, green fabric curtains on the windows....
i really think you should put it into your considerations as a possible candidate! :)
I do LOVE my minivan. I know you will too!
I'm afraid the baby names I like are a little too normal for you guys. But, just because you asked:
Ava, Katie Jane, Pearl, Eva Apple (yes I know that last one is a little weird, but my mom's maiden name is Apple)
Vanagon! We had an orange and cream one growing up. My brother's called it the creamsicle...
Yes its cool, but before you go for it, don't forget the ingenuity of your dad. He could totally build you a table in a newer minivan... ;)
The Vanagon looks like a piece of crap. Buy a real car. Heather sounds like a great name for a girl.
It would make me smile real big to see you and the kiddos drive up in the Vanagon.
As for names, "Heidi says" the name should be Holly. Because how fun would that be for BFF's to have daughters with the same name! Just a thought.
Ooooo the coveted Honda minivan! I hear they are divine!!!!
We had a really bad experience with our Honda van :( BUT, we got a Dodge van and it is awesome, AND it comes with a table in the middle. So, you don't have to choose, you can have the best of both worlds!
I was just coming by to say Holly, too.
i was just going to mention that the new dodge mini vans have a table in them (and seats that face forwards and backwards) but someone beat me to it! =)
i have some girl names...
i love maren. like ruth. poppy and piper have been on my list at least once (not my husbands). my favorite hawaiian girls name is maile (my-lay:it is a fragrant vine used to make lei's...known as the "lei of royalty"). i have more, but i think this is long enough...haha!
good luck!
Baron say the 'H' in Honda is for 'Hell yeah!'
So girl names: Bookcase or Hat but that's more of a boys name. There is also Sandwich or Stool. I can rattle off more if you want. I am a wealth of great kids names!
Mike and I used to want a vanagon with a table!!! But that was before we completely sold out. My sister had one for years before getting an odyssey, which she loves. You might be able to get a good deal on a Toyota right about now.
I know you love my taste in girls' names, so I'll give you our runners up:
Ruby
Morgan
Lucy
Sadie
Paige
Megan
Addison
Cameron
Camille
Honda! Does that other thingamagig have a dvd player? It'll keep the kids quieter with that inside and you know it. Besides ones ugly and the other not so much.
it'll be a lot easier to spot you in parking lots if you don't have the same car as the rest of the mothers in town.
Have you driven a vanagon? How about an Odyssey? It's a different experience.
We actually drive a sienna and it's great! When you factor in repairs, fuel efficiency, safety...Japanese is the way to go. I guess we realized we wanted the Vanagon as outward proof that we hadn't sold out--which desire was proof enough that we had.
How about Harmony or Melody
Do those sing to you?
tough decision. I don't know what to say, since we always wanted to live in a van by the river....but instead we are building a house by an orchard. So I don't know. I love love my odyssey and would buy another one again- even though the table thing well that is really appealing. We have a table between the two front seats in our Odyssey and it folds up and down-plus we have leather seats. I guess the Odyssey is the winner :) oh and we have over 180K miles! gotta love that part.
