Footprints in the Sand
Do some days ever feel like you're trudging. through. sand. the. whole. day? Each step effortful. Slower. I crashed at noon with both the kids, where we all indulged in a blissful two-hour nap. Later in the afternoon the thermometer read 101.4. Achy. Lethargic. You can make it through days like this, though, when you've got someone to hold your hand. I see that love in the bright eyes of Talmage when he asks, "Mommy happy?" I see it in the delighted eyes of Sydney when she realizes that those things down there are legs and she can stand up on them. I see it in the fingers of Briton as he picks he gee-tar, lulling Sydney to sleep, so I can rest just a little longer before church duty calls. Thanks, family, for getting me through this day!

Robin, I'm so glad to see that you blog. I hope you don't mind that I'm peeking at it. It's fun to keep tabs on everyone. I haven't even seen your little girl. What a great perspective on life. We just spent the weekend at the Bruno's playing games. Hopefully we'll see you next New Years. www.thecovingtonclan.blogspot.com.
That means you were sick when you came over-thanks for sitting around chatting even though you didn't feel real great. I guess you didn't know you were sick at that point. Did you end up exercising? We would love to have Talmage if you are still feel yucky. He fits right in.
I'm assuming the thermometer reading of 101.4 was you and not the temp in Hillsboro? Either way, it's bad! I hope you are feeling OK and I'm glad you can think of life's positives when sand is sloggish.
